OATSystems
Named One of “Top 10 Start-Ups
to Watch” By Network World Magazine
WALTHAM,
Mass. – April
25, 2005 – OATSystems®,
Inc., the recognized RFID framework
leader, today announced that it has
been chosen as one of the Top Ten Start
Ups to Watch according to Network World
Magazine.
Since 1998, Network
World has selected the “Top Ten Start-Ups to Watch” in
conjunction with the Network World 200,
a list of the biggest network companies
in North America, based on revenue. The
Top Ten Start-Ups to Watch are those
that have been formed in roughly the
last 1-3 years and are typically operating
off of venture or private funding, or
if far enough advanced, early customer
revenue.
An esteemed panel of judges rated companies
based on a number of factors including
technology, potential market opportunity,
founders, executive team, and funding.
“We like OATSystems for its efforts
to find a use for RFID-generated data
in enterprise networks,” said Beth
Schultz, editor, Network World's Signature
Series. “As an `oldtimer' in the
nascent enterprise market, the company
has been able to secure marquee
customers before competitors got their
acts together.”
Companies such as Akamai Technologies,
Arbor Networks, Foundry Networks, Inktomi,
Red Hat Software, and Top Layer Networks
have made the Network World Top 10 Start-Ups
to Watch list in the past few years.
“Network World editors have a
history of identifying companies that
have the right product at the right time
with the right management team in place
to succeed,” said Marc Osofsky,
vice president of marketing and product
management. “We’re honored
to be recognized for excelling in these
areas as we lead the market with software
solutions that empowers businesses to
achieve competitive advantage from RFID.”
