OATSystems
Executives Take RFID Coast –to-
Coast
WALTHAM,
Mass. – March 21, 2005 – OATSystems®,
Inc., the recognized RFID framework
leader, today announced that OATSystems’ President,
Chief Technology Officer and Vice President
of Marketing have been asked to share
their in-depth knowledge, experience
and vision in RFID implementations
with Tier 2 suppliers in Washington,
DC, Palo Alto, CA, Chicago, Texas and
Boston next month as demand for
best-practices heats up among the next
wave of retailers and suppliers looking
to adopt the technology.
Addressing
audiences at seven thought leadership
events designed to explore the lessons
learned through their work with four
of the ‘Wal-Mart 8’ and more
than 50 other Fortune 1000 customers,
Prasad Putta, Sanjay Sarma and Marc Osofsky
will present on topics such as best practices
using ‘real life’ examples,
merging point-of-sale data with RFID
data, the potential of the technology
and its policy implications, and RFID
in 2010.
“After
working on live RFID implementations
for over a year now, we’re starting
to see some of the early adopters that
took a ‘slap and ship’ approach
to compliance now ripping out expensive,
time-consuming projects because they
realized that without capturing EPC data,
they would never realize a return on
investment,” said Marc Osofsky,
vice president of marketing and product
management at OATSystems.
“Because these setbacks cost the industry time,
money and momentum, we hope to convey these lessons
learned to the next wave of companies deploying RFID
in hopes that they can avoid the pitfalls and put
a foundation in place that accelerates the path to
ROI in RFID.”
OAT executives
will present at the following upcoming
events:
• U.S.
Department of Commerce: April 6, Washington,
D.C.
